Donald D. Dog started our day by telling us about the letter D.

We practiced our letters and the number 4 on our writing wall. You may not be able to tell from the pictures, but all of the kids have noticeably improved in their writing ability in just a few weeks!

We drew dots and added dot stickers to our D's and 4 poms to our number 4s for our posters.

Then we played dice with D animals. The boys and girls took turns rolling the dice, and we had to pretend to be whichever animal was rolled. We perfected our donkeys, dolphins, dragonflies, ducks, dogs, and dinosaurs.

Afterward, we learned to sing "Four Little Ducks" on our flannel board.

We headed outside to enjoy the sunshine and learn our social studies lesson, "Don't Share Germs!" We met a yucky germ....

and found out about all the things we do that get germs on our hands. We learned to wash our hands after playing outside, before we eat, and after we go potty to keep our hands clean of germs.

Then, we had some playtime on the playground and got to ride on some dinosaurs!
We came back inside to wash our hands and learn this song:
"Wash, wash, wash your hands,
Each and every day,
When you sneeze and when you eat
And when you've gone to play"
Then we were ready for our snack! We made "dirt dessert" with pudding, worms, and chocolate rocks, and the kids mashed up some oreos for dirt. We read "How Do Dinosaurs Get Well Soon?" and talked about what we should do to get better when we're sick.

For music time, we made drums! The kids colored their drums, and we practiced fast and slow tempos, playing loudly and softly, and using our hands and our "drumsticks". We also had a dinosaur dance.

We made D dinosaurs and d daisies.

Our final activity was to trace our hands and add a tissue. The kids were given "sneezy faces", and we read "Sneezy Louise". We practiced covering our mouths when we sneeze and cough, so we don't share germs with other people.

Thanks to Miss Deborah for the pictures, and to all the kids for another great week!
