Great fun with G!

Thanks everyone for accommodating me and my craziness! It turns out that I didn't have pink eye, but I figured better safe than sorry! We had so much fun today! We started with circle time. The kids are getting really good at saying the pledge of allegiance. Then we met Gina Giraffe and we showed her all the G things we brought for her to see. Then we started our letter art. Today we made a goose and a goat. For those that missed this week I have everything for you to make yours too. We tried glue sticks today and I think it was an overall success.

After that we got caught up on our poster letters since we forgot to do it last week. We added soft feathers to our F's and glitter to our G's. The glitter was a great mess that's why we don't have any pictures. It took both of us to keep it under control!

Next we talked about our sense of sight and what our eyes can do. We covered our eyes and imagined what it would be like if we couldn't see. Then we read a book that was written with words and braille. It talked about how to describe colors if you cant see them. The kids each took a turn feeling the braille letters.

Then we played pin the petal on the flower. Each of the kids took a turn being blind folded and they used their hands to 'see' the flower.

Next we painted with 'magic' paper. This is a really fun activity that I think I'll do with my kids again. You draw a design on white paper with a white crayon and then you have the kids paint the whole paper with watered down paint or water colors. We made spiderwebs.

Brandon told us he was ready to eat so we had snack next. We had graham crackers and grapes. While we ate we read books about colors and used our eyes to find what was hiding in the pictures.

Then we pulled out a pumpkin and talked about how we have to use all of our senses to make observations. So we used our eyes and talked about what it looked like, the shape and color. Then we used our hands to decide what it felt like. Then we used our noses to smell it. Then we took the top off so we could feel the inside.

Melody was the only one that was even a little interested in getting her hands yucky! The rest of them looked at it for a minute then went to play lol!

After play time we learned about the number of the day, the number 7. After decorating our number we made necklaces with 7 beads. Each of the kids counted out their own beads. They are counting champs!

We still had lots of wiggles so we decided to go for a walk and see what we could observe outside with our eyes. We found lots of pumpkins!

We also found lot s of leaves. We talked about how they can look the same, they're all green, but still look different, they're all different sizes and shapes.

Back inside we looked at mirrors and talked about what we could see in the mirrors. We looked at the color of our eyes and hair and the parts of our faces. Then we all made silly faces at each other!

Next week Preschool is going to be at Jazmin's house. I'll be teaching, but she's hosting the Halloween party so we thought it would be easier to just do the whole thing at her house. The party will be for the last hour so if you would like to send your little ones costume we can put it on them for the party! Don't forget your H home work next week!
