We kicked things off with a math graph of our blue and brown eyes.

The kids met Bubbles B. Bear, who was excited to see the balls, band-aids, bibs, bottles, and other B items the kids brought for homework. Then he led them in games of bubbles and balloon volleyball. Afterwards, the kids practiced tracing the letter B and the number 2 on our writing wall.

For music, we had a bee-bobbin' band! Everyone got to play their own instrument and dance around.

We added balloons to our B's and 2 pom poms to our 2's to continue our Letter and Number posters.

For snack time, we enjoyed blueberries, bananas, and bagels (with butter, of course).

For social studies, we talked about our physical bodies, and found every body part that we have 2 of (ears, legs, eyebrows, etc). We practiced all the ways we can move our bodies--wiggling, jumping, shaking--and played Shapes. Each person got to make a shape with his or her body, and everyone else had to try to make the same shape. We talked about how we each started out as little babies (another B word-yay!), and we got to look at everyone's baby picture. We read "Now I'm Big" by Margaret Miller, a book that shows what we used to do about babies, and all the things we can do now that we're bigger! To show how big we are right now, we added our handprints to our name placemats for our art activity.

After talking about our bodies on the outside, we talked about our bodies on the inside. We looked at faces that were happy, sad, mad, tired, and scared, and discussed times when we've all felt that way. We sang "If You're Happy and You Know It", and added verses about what to do when we're sad, mad, tired, and scared.

The kids added "silly" to the feelings we show on our faces!

Then we played "Feelings": I made a face, and the kids had to run to the matching paper plate face and name the feeling. We talked about the importance of letting our moms and dads know how we feel on the inside, so they can help us.

Our final art activity was making B butterflies and b baseballs with bats.

We finished the day with more books and some playtime!
